Terms of service

Last updated 11 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Royal Clean. They are written to be read, not to be impressive. If something here is unclear, ask before you agree to it.

What the service is

Royal Clean is software for running a house-cleaning company: scheduling visits, recording the time worked, producing invoices and calculating what your crew is owed. It is a tool for keeping records. It is not an accountant, a payroll bureau, or a tax adviser, and it does not file anything with anyone on your behalf.

Your account

  • You are responsible for who you invite and what they can see.
  • Sign-in is by a link sent to an email address, so anyone with access to that inbox can sign in as that person.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been reached by someone who should not.

What you pay

Royal Clean is charged monthly, per person who can sign in — office staff and cleaners alike. People you have invited who have not yet accepted are not charged for.

Adding somebody part-way through a month is charged for the remaining part of that month; removing somebody credits the rest. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card details.

New workspaces get seven days free with no card. If you do not add one, the workspace stops accepting new work but everything already in it stays readable.

Ending it

You can cancel at any time from the billing screen, and it takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-months.

Your records remain readable after you stop paying. If you want your data out, ask and we will provide it in a machine-readable form. We may delete a workspace that has been cancelled and untouched for a long time, and we will email first.

Your data is yours

Customer lists, schedules, photographs and invoices belong to you. We use them to run the service for you and for nothing else — we do not sell them, and we do not train anything on them. See the privacy page.

What we do not promise

We work to keep the service available and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose, particularly records you may need for tax or employment purposes.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will email the address on the account before the change takes effect.
